Various events carefully selected by the Mediterranean Opera and Ballet Club within the scope of the 100th Anniversary of our Republic continue throughout the year.

AKOB will present all the common themes of the 100th Anniversary Celebration Assembly of which it is a component, "Atatürk", "Mersin", "100th Year" and "Republic", on November 9, 2023 at 18:00, at the Akdeniz Municipality Art Gallery Hall. It organizes book promotions, interviews and autograph sessions.

The book titled Atatürk in Mersin in 2000, which emerged as a result of many years of research by poet and writer Gündüz Artan and covers Atatürk's ten visits to Mersin, was reviewed, recompiled and published in 2016 by researcher and writer Semihi Vural. . This important and accurate source book, which is no longer available in print, is presented to the Mersin History archives as a second edition, with its deficiencies completed and edited.
While we respectfully commemorate Gündüz Artan, the author of the original book, we invite all Mersin residents to the Semihi Vural book launch and interview moderated by Ziya Aykın.

On November 9, 2023, at 18.00, at the Akdeniz Municipality Art Gallery Hall, Semihi Vural will sign his 21st book, Atatürk in Mersin, "Hayali Cihan Değer" * "For the Benefit of AKOB Student Scholarship Fund". We thank him for his usual volunteer support.

We would like to be together at the Semihi Vural book promotion, interview and signing day so that the star young people who will proudly carry the Republic from its 100th year to the next century shine even more.
